Big Cat Rescue Day Tour

Referred to as Tampa's best kept secret, Big Cat Rescue is unlike any other tourist attraction. Go behind the scenes and see the work involved in running the worlds largest accredited big cat rescue and sanctuary - home to over 150 exotic cats, representing 23 species and sub species of wildcats.

Day Tour
Meet 100+ exotic cats representing 16 species of wild cat. This is a walking tour, but is accessible by scooter or you can be provided with golf cart transport at no extra charge. All Cat-a-tats (enclosures) are 1200 square feet to 3 acres of lush tropical landscaping for each of the cats. The tour path winds through 45 acres of these enclosures so that you can stand 3 feet from leopards, lions, tigers and more.

Every tour is different than the one before because of the vast number of big cats and all of the things they find to do to amuse themselves. The volunteers spend a lot of time creating enrichment for the cats so that they have something new to play with and you get to watch as they check out a new scent toy or frolic around chasing ice balls. Look up into the trees and see cats sleeping or peek into underground dens and notice glowing eyes peeking back at you.

Your guide will tell you about each specie in the wild and the threats and challenges they face for survival. Most of the cats rescued were formerly pets because of the poor laws and lack of information available that would prevent people from making such a big mistake. Find out why it never works out for the person or the cat when you see for yourself that they all spray. Your guide will tell you when you are in a spray zone and when to run!

Kids Tour

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour specifically geared towards the "under 10's". Get an up-close look at the workings of Big Cat Rescue, and learn about the exotic cats and the other animals that reside here. This tour lasts for approximately one hour.

Your guide will know all the fun facts that you will want to share with your friends. Strollers are allowed, but the terrain is dirt. There are barricades around all of the enclosures to keep little ones out of harm’s way, but parents must keep their children under control.

Clearwater Evening Dance Cruise

Dive with the Sharks at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa Bay

For the experience of a lifetime - take a Dive with the Sharks at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa Bay. On the 30 minute dive you will share a tank with a variety of sharks and a friendly Green Turtle. After a short presentation, you'll be let out of the cage to swim with these intimidating deep-sea creatures. Just bring your swimsuit, a towel and your courage!

Dive with the Sharks at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa Bay gives you the opportunity to SCUBA dive with sharks from around the world in the incredible Shark Bay exhibit. This experience will put you up close and personal with the ocean's top predator.

Shark Bay is a 93,000-gallon saltwater exhibit that is home to shark species from around the world including sand tiger sharks, zebra sharks, nurse sharks, black tip reef sharks and a green sea turtle. The Dive with the Sharks program is designed to dispel the commonly held myth that sharks are man-eaters and to convey a strong conservation message to visitors. Essentially, this is an extension of the successful and popular dive show "Sharks! From Fear to Fascination!"

WHAT YOU GET: The program is approximately 90-minutes and includes an educational presentation about sharks and a 30-minute dive in the Shark Bay exhibit. Exit the shark cage with a qualified dive master and position yourself on the bottom of the exhibit for optimal viewing of the sharks. Family and friends will be able to watch from the Sea Hunt gallery.

SAFETY: There are two dive masters in the exhibit with you and one surface tender present during all dives. This program is operated with the highest standards of recreational diving. The Florida Aquarium dive team is trained to supervise recreational diving activities by world wide recognized scuba training agencies. Emergency oxygen and first aid kits are onsite for all diving operations. The dive and security team have a well-practiced emergency action plan in order to handle medical emergencies. All team members are trained in the use of emergency oxygen, first aid and CPR.

Advanced reservations are required to participate in the Dive with the Sharks program, it is not available to book on the day.
