Little Rangoon Taste of Burma
Little Rangoon, a new restaurant recently opened in Scottsdale, Arizona, specializing in cuisine from culturally rich Burma (Myanmar), nestled between the countries of Bangladesh, India, China, Laos, and Thailand in Southeast Asia.
As much as Burma shares borders with these countries, its cuisine is invariably influenced by these surrounding cultural spices, ingredients, and cooking styles. However, the combination of the ingredients of Burmese cuisine and the cooking styles are also what makes Burmese dishes unique.
The majority of the Myanmar diet consists of rice, served with meat or fish, as well as soups, salads and a variety of vegetables. It is customary for all dishes to be presented on the table simultaneously, allowing diners the freedom to make their own choices and enjoy the meal in family style.
