The Newport International Film Festival

Newport International Film Festival 2011 is a proud supporter of Welsh film, British film, Student films, World films and Independent films.

We aim to give you a great platform to screen your film, and great venues for your audience to watch them in.

2012 saw a bigger line up of films than ever before and a large turn out of film-makers from across the globe, plus more of those beautiful crystal awards!

We focus on films with a great story, great acting and that deserve to be seen.

We have excellent links with local press and will work with film-makers to ensure they get reviews of their work. At the 2012 festival we had bloggers, radio industry professionals and the Welsh press at the event, all doing interviews and reviewing the festival throughout the day. Ioan Dyer of GTFM Radio and BBC Wales called the event an "awe inspiring day".

Each film selected for a screening will be nominated for at least one award. Some of the awards are:
* Best Feature Film
* Best Actor
* Best Actress
* Best Cinematography
* Audience Award - Best Director
* Audience Award - Best Film
* Audience Award - Best Cinematography
* Audience Award - Best Director (Student)
* Audience Award - Best Film (Student)
* Audience Award - Best Cinematography (Student)
* Welsh Dragon Award
* Best Screenplay

All film-makers receive two passes to the Festival and free entry to the after party.

Newport is a great city, with the Ryder Cup golf course just up the road and Cardiff, the capital of Wales, close by.

We ensure a number of film financiers, distributors and actors, directors and producers attend the festival, ensuring that when your film is shown, it could be the next big stepping stone in your career.

No film is too small or too big to enter! Last year we had filmmakers coming from all across the world - America, Sweden, Germany and many more!
