
YOU donât have to go into space to discover the wonders of the universe this autumn and winter thanks to a series of exciting and informative presentations from the Wynyard Woodland Park Planetarium.
The Planetarium is hosting a series of `Whats up` shows throughout the autumn and winter. Finding out what stars, planets and other objects in space are visible in the sky for the coming month, as well as keeping in touch with any special events such as comets, shooting stars and eclipses.
The shows will explore the constellations and other wonderful sights visible in the night sky from various locations and the legends about how they got their names more than 4,000 years ago.
Calling all star-struck youngster (and the young at heart)! Do you have a telescope? Did you get one last Christmas or as a birthday present? Would you like to meet other people with their own telescopes, and find out how best to see the stars and planets? Perhaps your telescope has been knocked and needs some expert attention?
The Telescope Club is aimed largely at youngster's aged 10-14 (accompanied by an adult), however adults are welcome. Bring your telescope with you to see the night sky (weather permitting!) or there's a chance to use one of ours.
