The Waving Cat of Japan
Times: 13:00 and 16:00

Maneki Neko (The Waving Cat), is a Japanese cat-shaped figurine that is said to bring good luck, and of whom there are many folk tales and legends.

In this visually exciting new Sign Language Arts creation Krazy Kat present a Bunraku puppet- style theatrical fantasy, mixing in spectacular traditional Japanese images borrowed from the 'Noh' and 'Kabuki' theatre.

A tropical storm, wicked Sorceress, not so smart Prince and three tricky tasks to perform before midnight? Yikes! Luckily, Maneki Neko the waving cat is on hand to help

Lavishly designed by Chris de Wilde and lovingly directed by Caroline Parker, we are delighted to welcome the highly acclaimed deaf Japanese Choreographer Chisato Minamimura to the brilliant Krazy Kat creative team.

This show is suitable for 3-7 year olds and will be fully BSL signed.

Savage Children: Wild Girl
Times: Thu 23 May 2013 13:00 Thu 23 May 2013 19:00 Fri 24 May 2013 11:00 Sat 25 May 2013 14:00

A wild girl appears from the woods

Who is she?

She's a fish in the water, a deer on the earth, a flying squirrel in the treetops where she eats and she sleeps.

She imitates birdsong so well you'd think there was a nightingale in the room, but she can't say the words 'cat' or 'dog'.

Of course, people want to save the wild girl and make her like everyone else -- a citizen who can play, study, go to work and marry.

Who will decide what is best for her?

Or is that up to the wild girl herself?

A play based on the true story of 'feral' child Memmie Le Blanc, discovered on the country estate of a Count and Countess in 18th Century France.

Age guidance 8+

Each hour long performance of this play will be followed by a workshop with the cast. FREE to ticket holders.
