Linking to the museums natural history collection, this photographic exhibition looks at the inherent parallels between natural history specimens and photography. Visitors may recognise that specimens are locked in time, but a photograph is often seen as a moment in time. The specimens are our mirror on nature, just as photography is often seen as our mirror on the world. Here John Tunleys carbon pigment prints connect with that earliest art form; cave paintings.

In the 1970s, following a successful career in photo-journalism, Paul moved to rural Derbyshire with his young family; from this point on he made only photographs that were personally relevant to him. Paul has used landscape, family, wildlife, pets and other immediate elements in his environment as the subject matter for a continuing personal odyssey.
