In the daytime it’s a casual cafe at lunchtime serving up inventive sandwiches on fabulous breads, soups and specials then in the evening it becomes a proper smart, artistic restaurant. Owner Aoibheann Macnamara is the genius of the place and her bright fizzing personality is everywhere, from the brilliant colours on the walls to the sleek design of it to the warmest of welcomes. Saturday and Sunday brunch are local institutions. Menu is Irish/Moroccan/North African eclectic. Don’t miss the amazing Gubeen antipasti plate or the seafood platters and do try the afternoon teas. Ard Bia just won Connacht Best Restaurant Award – too right.
