Quaint but charming French restaurant in the heart of Dublin. This family-run restaurant has a regular clientele who come for the warm welcome and delicious seafood. All the staff are French and the atmosphere authentically Gallic. What's cooking: Classic French fare. Owner/chef Eamon O'Reilly is famed in Dublin for his exceptional cooking. His restaurant One Pico has been acclaimed by all food critics and has 2 AA rossettes and appears in the Michelin Red guide. Plenty of regulars - the restaurant is very popular with the business fraternity who enjoy the traditional style ambience. Everything is homemade including the bread and ice creams. Of particular note is the Guinness bread, made from Guinness and treacle, which can also be bought on the premises. What's cooking: Modern Irish cooking. The Tea Room at the Clarence
Uberhip hotel part owned by Bono and The Edge from U2 who purchased it in 1992. The Clarence has played a major part in making Dublin one of the trendiest places to vist not least because of it's combination of restrained style and unparalleled luxury. The furnishings are simple and Shakeresque, but where the decor may be 'minimal' the service and luxury are anything but. Every item of furniture has been customed designed and crafted by Irish artisans - from wrought iron bedside lamps to the restored oak panelling and arts and craft style stained glass windows. if you are feeling flush or have somthing to celebrate book yourself into the sumptuous penthouse which includes a baby grand piano and an outdoor hot tub on the roof terrace with views of the river Liffey. The confusingly named Tea Room is situated in the hotels original dining room which has be completely refurbished and is light and airy. The chef is commited to producing a new style of cooking using only the best and freshest Irish produce making this one of THE best places to eat in Dublin.

Poulot's Restaurant
Tucked into Mulberry Gardens near the centre of Dublin, Poulots offers diners delightful food in a lovely setting. It manages to be both homely and elegantand classical all at once, and relaxed too. The garden is lovely, and the collection of Irish art is fantastic. Everyone comes here, from locals and business types, to tourists, all ages. The menu has French origins, but is heavily influenced by traditional Irish cooking of a very high order. Try the Clonakilty black pudding croquette with roasted red pepper chutney, followed by grilled John Dory with parmesan tuile and red pepper sauce or rack of Wicklow lamb with ratatouille. All is complemented by the broad, ambitious wine list.
