Le Layon

Tucked away on the quai Pierre-Scize in Lyon, Le Contretê is a chic and cosy bistro as well as a gourmet grocery store selling olives, caviar and cheese. Run by acclaimed restaurateurs Florence and Christian Tetedoie, the kitchen at Le Contretê is renowned for its gastronomic celebration of flavours and colour, and the dining room, which is decorated in art deco hues, has a friendly home-away-from-home ambience. This North African restaurant, located on the rue du Boeuf in Lyon, is a hit with local foodies. The Tunisian born chef Naîma has imported a menu full of authentic Tunisian, Moroccan and Algerian recipes, and La Touareg has a fantastic, intimate atmosphere ideal for fun nights out with friends. The dining room is decorated with rust-coloured walls and Moroccan lamps, and twice a week diners are entertained with live belly dancers.
