You can do walks in the surrounding forests, also mountainbiking is a valid option. Better still, in summer, take a bus to the surrounding lakes Traunsee.

Situated on a small hill inside the town there is the church of Schöndorf, a somewhat interesting an unique mixture of different styles, maybe interesting to geeks of architecture. Maybe you want to visit the town park, hey, they even have a pond with ducks!

You can arrive by train from Linz or Salzburg, both are about one hour away. The station is close to the town center. Arriving per car is easy too, you can leave the highway A1 at Regau if you come from Linz or at Seewalchen if you come from Salzburg.

Easy, you can walk. It's a small town. There are two sort of buses: Some called Stadtbus stay in town, the rest goes to other places in Upper Austria. A ticket for Stadtbus costs 0,90€, a ticket that is valid a day 1,80€. Reduced tickets for elderly people, people under eighteen and for families are available. Dogs too need a reduced ticket.

A reasonably good restaurant is yet to be discovered, you can call the pizza-service if you want.

Nightlife in the town isn't worth mentioning, if you want a night out you'd better try to find something in the surrounding countryside, Timelkam is a good place to go. If you want to try it:

  • Servas, Schwibbogen 2, 20806, [1]. Tu-Th 11AM-11PM Fr 11-2AM Sa 6PM-2AM. Drunken teenagers and supported by the catholic church. At least they're not on the street. The boss is called Hermann. Free internet-surfing, but only one computer.
  • Mosquito, Linzerstrasse 4 4850 Timelkam, office@mosquito-musikclub.com, [2]. F and Sa 21.30PM-4AM. Music from classic rock to electronic. Young people, grunger, raver, hippies. Drinks are expensive and you alway have to pay entrance till 2AM plus minus half an hour. But don't ask for free entrance, once the doorkeeper knows that you don't want to pay he wouldn't let you in for free, even after 2AM. The Mosquito was formerly called Gei and everyone still sticks to this name.
